Bipul Chettri is a musician from India who combines traditional Himalayan folk music with a modern style. He primarily sings in Nepali and has released several songs, including his first album "Sketches of Darjeeling" in 2014, followed by "Maya" in 2016 and six singles - 'Basant', 'Gahiro Gahiro', 'Ashish', 'Teesta', 'Mughlan' and Neela Akash in the subsequent years. He currently lives in New Delhi, India and his latest EP, 'Samaya', was made available in 2021.
Chhetri's emergence in the music industry came with the release of his beautiful track "Dadelo" on SoundCloud (audio distribution platform) in February 2013, which showcased his singing and musical abilities and opened the way for his first music album, "Sketches of Darjeeling".
The album was well received, and Bipul was recognized as the top-selling artist for 2014-15 and ranked among the top ten for 2015-16 on the indie retail music site OKListen.com in India. He also won several awards for his work, including "Pop-Rock Album of the Year" and "Best Pop-Rock Composition of the Year" for his song "Syndicate", as well as "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance of the Year" at the Hero Hits FM 91.2 Awards. Subsequently, he released his second album, "Maya," and followed it up with a series of singles, including "Basant," "Gahiro Gahiro," "Ashish," "Teesta," "Mughlan," and "Neela Akash," as well as his most recent EP, "Samaya," which was released in 2021. Bipul is currently associated with "The Travelling Band" for his live performances.
